New Writing Through Child Loss Group Starts September 19

Writing through Child Loss small group

I started writing poetry the night my six-year-old son, Riley, died. A voice in my head said, write. I sat down at my computer and wrote a poem. It wasn’t good, but writing it was. The process of thinking about words and the placement of them. The act of creating instead of destroying.

People have asked me through the years if writing has been cathartic or therapeutic for me. It surprised me early on because I hadn’t thought of it that way. It was just what I was doing to survive.

I have come to realize how it saved me, and I want to share its powerful healing benefits with others. When we write, we create and connect with our loved ones, the living and the dead. We surprise ourselves, and magic happens. We create beauty.

I offer Writing through Child Loss groups to help others who have lost a child. I'm emailing to let you know that the next group begins on September 19th. Perhaps you know someone who could use this kind of support? Please learn more and share.

This is a small group; space is limited.

About the Small Group

An 8-week online grief writing support group, where I provide poems and writing prompts to inspire deep connection and reflection. You’ll have the opportunity to share what you’ve written if you feel comfortable, though sharing is always optional. No prior writing experience is required—just an open heart and a desire to heal.

In this safe, supportive space, we’ll connect with others who truly understand the unique grief that comes with losing a child. Whether your loss is recent or many years in the past, you are welcome here.
